I am an archaeologist and paleoethnobotanist interested in how societies and ecological systems change together through time. Most of my work focuses on the U.S. Southeast. Currently, I'm analyzing plant remains from Native American sites to understand how people mediated their relationships to the environment and each other through mound-building, agroforestry, and other forms of landscape modification in the millennia before European colonization.
