This art exhibition has been supported by leading calligraphers and scholars around the world. It is designed in conjunction with both Dartmouth’s “Year of the Arts” and Professor Wen Xing’s “Chinese Calligraphy and Manuscript Culture: Orchid Pavilion” course. Exhibition sections:

  2. The Heart Sutra in the Qi Style and Professor Qi Gong’s (1912-2005) Art
  3. Manuscript, Sutra, and Mantra: The Heart Sutra in Five Scripts by Prof. Wen Xing
  4. Pre-Classics Era: Bone, Bamboo, and Bronze Manuscripts
  5. Manuscript Art in Practice: From the Orchid Pavilion to the Women’s Script
  6. Chinese Calligraphy and Manuscript Art at Dartmouth and in Higher Education

The exhibition is generously supported by the Office of the President and the Office of the Provost as part of Dartmouth's Year of the Arts initiative in collaboration with the Dean of the Faculty, and co-sponsored by the Leslie Center for the Humanities, the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Languages and Literatures, the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Program, and the Hood Museum of Art.
